Commits to Alabama
Omoruyi announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After the NCAA's 2024-25 season, Omoruyi will enter the NBA, and he believes Alabama's basketball program can help him adapt to the pro level much more easily. The center is a proven option from Rutgers, for whom he averaged more than five rebounds thrice and at least two blocks twice. Omoruyi can also score, having logged a double-digit average in points each season except his freshman year. He is slated to be Alabama's primary center, which should still not be a problem for placeholder Grant Nelson, who can slide down to the stretch four, perhaps a more fitting position for the Alabama mainstay and one the Tide could have improved on even before their newest commitment.
