Evans entered Friday's 41-16 loss to the Stampeders in the third quarter for Vernon Adams (coach's decision/knee) and completed 14 of 20 passes for 125 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He also rushed three times for 16 yards.

ANALYSIS
Evans was mostly ineffective in fill-in duty as his final line indicates, but he inherited a tough assignment with the Lions already down 17-3 at halftime. The veteran will serve as insurance in case Vernon Adams' knee issues flare up again during the postseason, but the latter will have an extra week of rest before a home playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 4.
