Granted Rolex 24 Entry
IMSA
January 6, 2023
IMSA has announced an expansion of the Rolex 24 at Daytona grid to 61 entries, with confirmation of the No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the GTD class for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the huge interest in this season's Rolex 24, this team was initially denied entry. Habul's squad was originally planned for just the lone season-opener in 2023. However, the owner driver has put together plans to run the full Endurance Cup schedule and now IMSA has granted Habul and his co-pilots a 61st entry at Daytona. This team won the GTD pole for last season's Rolex 24, but crashed out just over 100 laps into the event.
