Kispert, Avdija combine for 50 points to lift Wizards over Bucks
The Washington Wizards outlasted the Milwaukee Bucks, 117-113, at Capital One Arena on Tuesday.

The first half was competitive, with neither team leading by double digits. The home team Wizards (15-61) raced out to a 10-2 run, but the Bucks (47-28) quickly closed the gap and led by one point at the end of the first quarter. Washington won the second frame, 31-26, and were able to extend its four-point halftime lead to as much as 14 points in the third quarter. Milwaukee continuously whittled the deficit to single digits in the second half and managed to get within single digits in the fourth quarter. However, the Wizards were able to make timely stops and buckets down the stretch to hang on for victory to push their home record to 7-31. The Bucks dropped to 18-20 on the road, and despite grabbing 18 offensive rebounds, their 11-for-48 shooting from three ultimately led to their downfall.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with his 10th triple-double of the season, as he finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Khris Middleton chipped in 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. Pat Connaughton led the bench with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Bobby Portis tallied 12 points, 12 rebounds and three assists for his 14th double-double of the season while coming off the pine. Malik Beasley struggled with his shot, going 2-for-13 from the field and 1-10 from three to finish with five points, two rebounds and two steals.

Corey Kispert led the Wizards with 27 points and seven rebounds. Deni Avdija added 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Jared Butler led the bench with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jordan Poole notched his third double-double of the season with 16 points, four rebounds, 13 assists and two steals. Tristan Vukcevic added 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists in reserve.

Both teams will play their next respective games Wednesday. The Wizards welcome in the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Bucks return home to host the Memphis Grizzlies.
