Heat Use Strong Start To Get Past Knicks
The Miami Heat defeated the New York Knicks, 109-99, at Kaseya Center on Tuesday.

The Heat (42-33) enjoyed a strong start in the first quarter and managed to defeat the Knicks (44-31) at home despite New York’s attempts of a late comeback. The Heat grabbed a 34-22 lead in the first quarter and never looked back the rest of the way. Miami even bolstered their lead even further before halftime, making it a 15-point game after a 24-21 score in the second quarter. The Knicks played with more energy in the third quarter and reduced the deficit to 10 points following a 30-25 score, but that would be all they’d do.Despite some late charges in the final 12 minutes, the Heat would close things out with a 26-26 score in the fourth quarter, cruising their way to victory. With the win, the Heat moved to 20-17 at home, while the Knicks fell to 20-17 on the road.

Terry Rozier led the way for the Heat with a game-high 34 points. Rozier also added five rebounds and three assists. Bam Adebayo finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. Jimmy Butler recorded 17 points, five rebounds and six assists. Haywood Highsmith notched 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench. The Heat shot 48.6 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from three-point range.

Donte DiVincenzo led the way for the Knicks with 31 points while adding four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Miles McBride had 24 points, two rebounds and two assists. Jalen Brunson chipped in with 20 points and 10 assists, but he shot 5-for-18 from the field. Bojan Bogdanovic added 16 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Knicks shot 46.1 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range.
